Miss Mia
Miss Mia-Preschool Teacher “Sunflowers" & “Camellias" Classes-Dundee (4 Years at The Good Life)
Ms Early Childhood
Miss Mia brings creativity, social-emotional learning, and a strong early literacy foundation into her classroom each day. She blends both the art and science of teaching by connecting intentionally with each child, supporting their unique learning journey. Mia is the Lead Preschool Teacher for our 3’s Classes (Camellias & Sunflowers) at our Dundee location.
A lifelong Oregonian, Mia grew up in the Portland area before attending Western Oregon University, where she earned her B.S. in Early Childhood & Elementary Education. After college, she moved to Newberg to be closer to her family and help with their family business. Since joining The Good Life in October of 2021, she has also earned her Master of Education with a concentration in Trauma-Informed Education from Antioch University-New England. Mia has taught both Preschool and Pre-K at our Newberg and Dundee locations.
Mia has always known she was meant to work with young children. As a child, she set up “classrooms” for her younger cousins at her grandmother’s house. As she got older, those early play experiences grew into babysitting and nannying. In college, she spent time student-teaching in kindergarten, first, and third grade classrooms, but her favorite place to be was always the preschool on her campus.
Before joining The Good Life Preschool, Mia managed her family’s wine tasting room, Artisanal Wine Cellars, in downtown Newberg and coordinated events for the Newberg Downtown Wineries Association. She still enjoys staying connected with her family and helping her parents with their cute and cozy winery in downtown Newberg.
Outside of the classroom, Mia loves spending time with her family—especially her sister and her nieces! When she unwinds, you’ll find her cozy with a blanket, a scented candle, and a good book or Netflix show. She loves all things pink and sparkly, music, and animals. Mia enjoys visiting the elephants at the zoo, trips to Disneyland, and spending time at home with her three cats, Lola, Betty, and Karma.
Miss Mia’s philosophy of teaching is that children are unique individuals with their own thoughts, ideas, interests and talents, and who deserve respect, love, and care as they grow. She believes that the way we treat young children and the things we teach them now, lay a strong foundation for the people they will continue to become.
Miss Mia is grateful to be part of The Good Life community and loves building meaningful connections with each child and family in her class. We are thrilled to have Miss Mia as part of our dynamic teaching team!
