Life Skills
The Good Life Preschool was created on our beliefs for children and their individual development.
Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)
At The Good Life Preschool, Social & Emotional Learning is at the heart of everything we do. We believe children thrive—both academically and socially—when they feel safe, confident, and emotionally supported. That’s why SEL isn’t a separate lesson; it is intentionally woven into each child’s day and guides how we teach, connect, and care.
Our students participate in daily Life Skill Lessons designed to help them understand their emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop the confidence to navigate the world around them. Through these lessons, children learn essential skills such as empathy, self-regulation, problem-solving, resilience, and positive communication.
We proudly use two award-winning SEL curricula to support this work:
Slumberkins® brings social-emotional concepts to life through engaging stories, lovable characters, and mindfulness practices that help children name their feelings and build emotional resilience.
Growth Early Mindset (GEM) by Mindset Works offers a research-based lesson approach rooted in the work of Dr. Carol Dweck. This engaging curriculum introduces children to the power of “yet,” helping them understand that their brains grow stronger every time they try something new, practice, or learn from mistakes.
By intentionally teaching life skills every day, we help children develop strong emotional foundations, meaningful connections with others, and the confidence to approach learning and life with kindness, curiosity, and courage. The skills built at The Good Life Preschool are foundational tools children carry with them well beyond the classroom and into life.
